The Oil
The oil at the olive press is produced from the Zuri variety of olives, known for their delicious, pungent flavor. These olives produce 20% oil, and at the end of the season even 30%.

The trees from which the olives are picked are hundreds and even thousands of years old and grow naturally without irrigation. These two factors add to the high quality of the oil.

The oil produced from these olives is thicker and more pungent, adding to the pleasure of the taste
Why the Zuri Variety of Olives?
The Zuri variety of olives, as its name says, is grown in Zur (Tyre) in Lebanon. The cold temperature makes the olives harder and more viscous, making the oil produced from them thicker, more aromatic and more flavorful.

Other varieties of olives do not produce oil of the same quality. For example, Manzanilla olives are mainly an edible variety. Oil can be produced from this variety of olive, but only after the olive has blackened. The amount of oil produced is less, is thinner and is not as tasty. Novo olives from France and Santa olives from Israel are edible olives with very low oil
content. A variety developed in Israel the Barnea or K18 is used for oil and for eating. The oil content is between 12-15%, and the olives have a very pleasant taste.

However, as we have said, the Zuri variety of olives produces the highest quantity of oil, and most important the finest, most aromatic and tastiest oil.

The day that the olives are picked is a holiday at the olive press, a day when all the families of the olive pickers gather at the press and wait for the production of the magnificent olive oil.

Without any marketing or advertising knowledge, just with a love for hard work and a strong belief in the taste and quality, Nahal Tzalmon Olive Oil has made a name for itself as one of the finest olive oils in the country, a name worth its taste in gold.
